Information in relation to this shaft is minimal. From referring to British Mining 46, it is unclear which mine this shaft connects to, or what its use was other than to state that it was found on the Castaway Vein. The size indicates that it was possibly a manway but this is not confirmed.
The shaft drops down no more than 10 metres before reaching a deep pool full of debris. Approximately three quarters of the way down the shaft looks to be the start of an incline passage but which has collapsed less than a metre back from the main shaft.
The shaft is uncapped and in good condition, however there is not much to see once you descend to the bottom.
